FirmRock - Children Helper

Our children

Since 2014, we care and support for orphan children while  at well wishers or relative's care. We give them medical attention, education, care and love.

The challenge of course is to give them an accurate balanced diet, since the food ends up being shared also by the caregivers.

We currently support more than 20 children.

Group projects

Bricks for food

Our project includes bricks making, vegetable farming and trees seedlings.

Water is the main challenge to all this project due to the area climate. Currently we dug risk wells which don't go through the year. We want to be more effective and include alternative energies and innovative clean water techniques in our project.

Sukuma wiki

We are also developing a community group project: we plant collard greens (popular known here as " sukuma wiki") so that we can raise money for the orphans needs. Though this seemed initially a small drop in the ocean, the impact in the community was very positive: the entrepreneurship concept was presented.  We believe that community transformation initiatives contribute to empowerment and sustainability. From an agriculture project, to animal raising or a small business in the future.

Beaded bags

We are training woman from our community on how to make beaded bags that we sell. We believe in community transformation through business. Our children like to help too so they do bracelets for themselves with the beads. It's a very good way to develop their creativity.

Shoes for David

David Kathembe is a standard seven student. He's among our children with special needs. We are gathering funds for a surgery and plaster that will help to strengthen his legs and hopefully correct them back to normal.

He will need special shoes to walk.
